A Corbeil family household of at least 13 members residing in the district of Compton was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Bénoni Corbeil, was born in Quebec in 1849. He identified his heritage as French. By 1901, at the age of 51, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Farmer". Bénoni's wife was Marie Anne Corbeil, who was 46 years old. Marie Anne was born in Quebec in 1854. She also identified her heritage as French. Bénoni and Marie Anne had 11 children, 4 boys and 7 girls. In 1881 their eldest child, a boy named Isare, was born. One year later, in 1882, when Bénoni was 33 years old and Marie Anne was 28 years old their second child, this time a daughter, who was named Lydia, was born. Then, in 1885, with their two children ages 4 years and 3 years, their third child, Anné, was born. In 1901 another daughter, their fourth child and third girl, Angéline, was born. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and second boy, Wilfrid, was born in 1889. He was followed by 6 more children: their son Octave, born in 1891; their daughter Delia, born in 1893; their son Louis, born in 1895; their daughter Oliana, born in 1896; their daughter Rose, born in 1898; and their daughter Léonie, born in 1900. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Corbeil family household was filled with 11 children whose ages were 1, 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, and 20 years.
