Cemetery in the Middle of the 401 & 427, Toronto?

Cemetery in the Middle of the 401 & 427, TorontoI’ve been driving by it almost every day for about five years and never noticed it. It wasn’t until a local Toronto Genealogist pointed it out (and at the same time she tried to crash the vehicle). So be warned, be careful while you look for yourself.

In the middle of Highway 401, where it meets Highway 427, there is a cemetery in between the curving, lanes-upon-lanes, of traffic. It is Richmond Memorial Cemetery and was consecrated in 1853.

CanadaGenWeb.org has some great information about the cemetery including photos, transcriptions and indexes from Joanne Krywko. There are gravestones with names like: Dawson, Henderson, McLaughlin, Middlebrook, Moody, Pearson & Robertson. See more info.
