Gazzo Name Meaning
Italian: probably from the medieval Greek personal name Gatsos a pet form of Georgatsos a derivative of Geōrgios (see George ). Alternatively a nickname from Sicilian gazzu ‘blue-eyed’ (also ‘short-sighted’) or from Old Italian gazzo ‘deep blue’ (like the feathers of a magpie Italian gazza). It could also be a habitational name from Gazzo in Padova province Gazzo Veronese in Verona province or from a shortened form of Agazzo from Late Latin Agathius either a masculine form of Agata or from the analogous ancient Germanic personal name Agathio.
