It was said that this state was annexed by the state of Jin during the Spring and Autumn period (770–476 BC). (ii) surname from one of the minority ethnic groups in ancient southern China. Mandarin form of the surname 矯 meaning ‘strong’ in Chinese: from the first element of the personal name Jiao Fu (矯父) style name of an official in the state of Jin during the Spring and Autumn period (770–476 BC).
