Flemish and Dutch: patronymic from Sicke a pet form of an ancient Germanic personal name containing the element sigi ‘victory’. It is also found in France (mainly Nord). French: nickname from Old French six ‘six’ denoting the sixth child of a family or perhaps a lucky person who often throws a six in dice games.
