YOUNGSTOWN, OH – Irving Hotimsky peacefully passed away on Sunday, Aug. 21, 2011, at Heritage Manor, where he resided since 1997.

Irving was born in Youngstown, Ohio to Max and Freda Hotimsky, who were immigrants from Russia.

Irving graduated from The Rayen School and then attended UCLA. He returned to the area briefly, and lived most of his adult life in the Wooster (Ohio) area.

Irv was a lover of classical and Jewish music, and was a gifted violin player.

After his arrival to Heritage Manor, he became a volunteer as well as a resident. He attended most activities, especially religious services, where he encouraged others also.

Irv paid honor and respect to other residents by often attending their funerals and in helping form the “minyan,” a gathering of 10, necessary to perform some of the prayers.
Irv loved his family and the staff of Heritage Manor, who loved him also.

Irv was predeceased by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law, Nathan and Eva Hotimsky.

Left to mourn his loss are his niece, Beverly Silverman of Houston, and her children, Laura and Brian and his nephew, Harry Hotimsky of Grand Junction, Colorado and his children, Netana, Chad and Avivah.
He also leaves his cousins, Myron Holt, Alan Holt and Muriel Altman.

Services will be held at noon, today (23 Aug 2011) at El-Emeth Cemetery in Coitsville, Ohio.(Mahoning County)

Arrangements are being made by the Shiver-Allison-Courtley-Weller-King Funeral Home.
