From what I know, John Brophy, the coach of the Leafs, was the son of Albert Brophy.
Albert Brophy was the son of Thomas Brophy and Johnetta MacDonald.
Thomas Brophy was the son of Martin Brophy and Mary Walsh.
Martin Brophy had a brother John James Brophy, who settled in the Magdalen Islands.
Both Martin and John James were on board the ship Miracle which hit the coast of Grosse Isle (East Cape), on the Magdalens in may 1847.
I have the email address of a direct ancestor of Martin Brophy, in fact a second cousin of John Brophy. You can write me at jeanlemieux2000@gmail.com.
