The funeral of Mrs. D.P. Shattuck last Thursday afternoon was largely attended, and many beautiful flowers were sent by friends. She laid to rest in Oddfellows cemetery, Bickleton.
Mrs. Shattuck was born in Missouri May 24, 1811. Her maiden name was Nancy Bones. She married D.P. Shattuck May 13, 1858. To this union nine children were born, of whom six are living. She came with her mother, sisters, and brothers to California in the early '40s, and was a pioneer of that state. She came to the Alder Creek country in 1880, being a pioneer here also, and has since resided here. Mr. Shattuck died in 1906, since which time Mrs. Shattuck has lived with her children.
Besides numerous relatives and friends, Grandma Shattuck leaves to mourn her six children, H.S. and Richard Shattuck of Bickleton, L.H. Shattuck and Mrs. Rena Coleman of Mabton, E.L. Shattuck of Granger, and Mrs. Gertrude Beckner of Seattle.
