Anthony Frank "Tony" Koziorowski
Anthony "Tony" Frank Koziorowski, age 86, passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at the Pennsylvania Soldiers and Sailors Home. He was born on December 18, 1924 in Rozwaz, Poland. He was the son of the late Frank and Jozefina Koziorowski. He immigrated to the United States with his mother in 1929 and they joined his father where they settled in Erie. He graduated from Gannon University with a degree in Philosophy. Tony served in the Army Reserve and Army during the Korean War as a PFC in the Military Police. He retired from many years of service from the General Electric Company in 1984 as a Purchasing Agent for the Aerospace Division. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards, golfing, fishing, traveling throughout the United States and spending time with his family. Survivors include his beloved wife of 54 years, Rose Mary (Hess) Koziorowski. One son, Mark (Sandy) Koziorowski, two daughters, Mary Jo (Jack) Justka and Karen (Tom) Klapthor. Nine grandchildren, Josh and Nichole Justka, Dan (Holly), Kelly and Katie Koziorowski, Julie (Jim) Hayes, Tiffany, Heather and Kyle Klapthor. One great grand daughter, Morgan Marie Koziorowski. He is also survived by a sister, Irene Warren of Homestead, Texas, a brother-in-law Norman (Leona) Hess and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, Pine Avenue Branch, 845 East 38th Street. Services will be held there on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church at 10 a.m. Private burial will follow in Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Church, 315 East 9th Street, Erie, PA 16503.
