I came across this Nov 2000 post looking for children of my great grands Henry T and Francis Cox McDaniel. My grandfather Louis Burton McDaniel (1881-1968) was the son of Henry and Francis. There were at least 4 other older siblings: Henry, Viola, Stephen, and one older sibling. They are listed in the 1880 census.
Louis married Savannah Elizabeth Overton (1887-1985). She was daughter of John Wesley (Kapo) Overton (1836-1920) and Winnie Penelope (Nipi) Wideman (1845-1917). I assume Kapo and Nipi were their Indian given name as they also lived in an Indian village on the Cahaba River. Nipi had written a book on herbal medicines as she cared for and doctored the Indians.
My mother, Grace McDaniel Moore, daughter of Louis and Savannah McDaniel is now 93 years old and lives in southwest Georgia.
By now you may have the info you were seeking, but I thought I'd pass this along.
