Although "Big Tim" and his wife had been married for 25 years when she died, they apparently lived apart for most of that time and they had no children.
Ada Sullivan claims to have been adopted by Sullivan, but no proof was ever offered at the probate hearing and she received no share in his estate. At his death, the survivors were his brother Patrick H., his half-brother Lawrence Mulligan, his half-sister Margaret Hickey. He had been predeceased by his wife and another half-sister Mary Ann Sommers.
All of this is in contrast to the 1910 census which shows Sullivan living at 214 E. 11th Street with wife Ellen and daughter Ada.
