The William and Pearl Fitzgerald buried in Highland View Cemetery are my parents and are not the subjects of the original query. This William (Jr.) is the son of William (Sr.) who was the son of John Fitzgerald who migrated with his parents from Tipperary County, Ireland, to Peterborough County, Ontario, in the Peter Robinson expedition of 1825. John subsequently migrated with his family to Mecosta County via Grand Rapids, Michigan. John's parents who brought him to Peterborough from Ireland were William and Bridget (Tobin) Fitzgerald.

I believe that we could be distantly related. I'm descended from William and Bridget Fitzgerald, who gave birth to Mary Fitzgerald (who may possibly be a sister to your ancestor, John Fitzgerald). Mary was born about 1813 in County Tipperary, and married William Pearson in Peterborough, Canada. William and Mary (Fitzgerald) Pearson had about 12 children, and I'm descended from their son Joseph, who married Clamos Bellile of Quebec. Joseph and Clamos migrated to Michigan in 1880 or so. I've been trying to do some research on the Peterborough Irish, and find my roots. Hope you can help. Adam Youker (ayouker83@yahoo.com)

You are correct. Your Mary (Fitzgerald) Pearson was a sister of my great grandfather, John Fitzgerald. I had no record of who Joseph Pearson married and so am glad to get that info. Another Pearson, Silas (1831-1927) married a half great aunt of mine, Eliza Jane Dewart (1836-1909) in Peterborough, and they moved to Mecosta County, Michigan. Silas was the son of William Pearson and Mary Fitzgerald. I have a photo of Silas Pearson as an adult and would be glad to e-mail it to you if you would like it.

I have Mary Fitzgerald's birth date as 1813 in County Tipperary.

I will answer any of the questions you have on the family if I have the data.

Denton,

My personal e-mail address is ayouker83@yahoo.com It is so good to get a hold of someone who is related to the Fitzgeralds. I've been trying to do some research on the Pearsons and Fitzgeralds, but have really no information in regards to that information. Do you know where William and Bridget Fitzgerald are buried? I'm hoping to go to Peterborough in the Spring (I live in Northern Michigan) and visit the cemetaries and to go to St. Peter in Chains Church, where the Fitzgeralds and Pearsons attended. Do you know if Monsignor Pearson is a relative, descended from Mary and William Pearson? Also, I have listed that Mary Fitzgerald was born in Templetiny (could this be Templetenny???), Tipperarry, Ireland? I can't find a Templetiny on the Irish map, but found a Templetenny in Tiperrarry. So...Mary's mother's name was Bridget Tobin? That's good to find out. Please do send the picture of Silas. Contact me at my personal e-mail address. So, Good to be in contact with you. Thanks a million. Adam Youker
