Surnames: John Espy
I am trying to find out any family information about a John Espy who was a Pony Express rider - there is an article about him from "Pack Horse Stage Lines and Camel Express" - a company active in the 1860's in Grant County, Oregon. John was shot by Indians on one of his pack trips. He did live but we'd like to know who is parents were, etc. Any information will be appreciated.

Unfortunately, I don't know where he was born - I don't know anything about him - I found the article and saw that he was an Espy and wondered if he was one of "our Espys" - our original Espy family came from Ireland/Scotland to Pennsylvania and some moved west. There are a large group of Espy families distantly related to ours in the Oregon/Washington areas. I just hoped someone might have a John Espy in their family tree in 1862!! Any help would be appreciated.
