I am trying to figure out what a specific extra note means on the 1910 US Federal Census.
The note appears in column 4, "Relationship to Head of House". It only appears for the heads of houses and the note is an additional "H-X" written as as a superscript in the same box (so the full record is written "Head H-X"). On the same page other heads of houses may also have an additional, single "H" or no extra letters/codes/notes at all. I am looking specifically at the Goodrich, Sheridan, North Dakota enumeration district and it is most common that there is no extra note, at all.
Does anyone know what that denotes? I have gone through the 1910 enumeration instructions but can't find a mention of it anywhere.
