I have seen this in many 19th century newspaper articles of late, but a search of the Internet turned up only a couple of mine web sites in the UK where they didn't have a key explaining terms and abbreviations. "Charles Baker Died at Burlingame, Kan., on the 17th inst., of marasmus, Charles Baker, infant son of Evan W. and Tillie Evans, and grandson of the late Rev. R. W. Horsfield." The Oskaloosa Independent, Saturday, October 25, 1879. SO WHEN DID HE DIE?
