Hello Mary. I am Patricia Thayer Muno, Family Historian for the Thayer Families Association. He married 1st to Very Alma THAYER. I have this information in his notes: He was born William Edward RALSTON, but changed his name to Edward Edgar “Lucky” Robinson and became a World Famous Trick and Fancy Roper in the Robinson Family World Youngest Trick Rope and Fancy Riders and performed with the Wild West Shows. Edward died 12 Apr 1957 in Bakersfield, Kern, CA, at the age of 45, and was buried in Union Cemetery, Bakersfield, Kern, CA. Notes for Edward/William: “Anything prior to 1945, the facts of his life remain a mystery.” OBIT.: Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. at the Hopson Mortuary Chapel for Edward Edgar Robinson, 45, 501 Hazel St., who died April 12 at his home. The Rev. John H. Wallen will officiate. Mr. Robinson was a native of Wyoming and had resided in this community the past six years. He was a veteran of World War II and an employee of The Bakersfield Saddlery. Survivors include his widow, Ila Robinson of Bakersfield; four sons, Allen Leon was a Woodley), James Alan , Charles Edward and John Lindsay Robinson, all of Bakersfield; two daughters, Joyce Marie was a Woodley) and Mary Louise Robinson of Bakersfield; and mother-in-law, Mrs. Minnie Doche of Gorman. Interment will be in the veterans plot, Union cemetery, Pallbearers will be C.R. Wade, R.L. Fleming, M.A. Harvey, D.J. Roberts, D.F. Switzer and Gene Shugart.
