Hi Diane,

You've posted a lot of good information, but I think you've only asked 2 questions. Did Lincoln SPENCER have children? And, does anyone know of Joseph SPENCER and his children while they were still in Rhode Island.

I can't help with Joseph SPENCER - unless you need Census information. But, I just did a "search" for Lincoln Dyer SPENCER, and see him mentioned several places on-line. He is mentioned at the WorldConnect Project, and there is this record there:

ID: I65565
Name: Lincoln Dyer SPENCER
Sex: M
Birth: 20 APR 1862 in Hawaiian Islands
Census: 1920 Seattle, King co., Washington
Occupation: 1920 Contractor - Electrical
Death: 17 JUN 1938 in Seattle, King co., Washington
Census: 1910 Seattle, King co., Washington
Census: 1930 Seattle, King co., Washington
Occupation: 1910 Electrical Contractor
Occupation: 1930 Electrical Contractor - house

Family Data Collection - Births
Name: Lincoln Dyer Spencer
Father: Rhodes Green Spencer
Mother: Elizabeth Bunker Lebrett
Birth Date: 20 Apr 1862
State: HI
Family Data Collection - Deaths
Name: Lincoln Dyer Spencer
Death Date: 17 Jun 1938
State: WA
Country: USA

That showed he left Hawaii and went to Washington State at some time before 1910, and he remained there.

.. I'm also finding this brief record on Ancestry which shows he had married and had a child:

Born in Hawaii, USA on 20 Apr 1862 to Rhodes Green Spencer and Elizabeth Bunker LeBrett. Lincoln Dyer married Cynthia Nina Brown and had a child. He passed away on 17 Jun 1938 in WA.

... This on-line record shows he had a daughter, and was in WA before 1897.

Dorothy Heppingstone Spencer
Born: 26 APR 1897 - WA
Died: 26 OCT 1966 - WA

And, she married and had a daughter (possibly still living):

Elizabeth Mary Sinclair
Born: Private -
Died: -

The family is also mentioned here:

There is an article in this on-line book about the family. It seems there was a "dispute" that needed to be settled:

... There is a lot of information now at (for free) and I just found the description of Lincoln's family in 1910 - showing the couple had 5 children.
