Okay I am seeking help from anyone as to what direction I should take on this issue. My mother passed in 1989 and even shortly before her death, I asked her who my biological father was and she kept giving me my Dad's name. I knew this was untrue as his older sister told me he was unable to have children due to a childhood illness; not mention I looked nothing like him.
A few years ago, I was given 2 names by older family members who finally confirmed my Dad wasn't my biological father. I have narrowed it down to one man who is also deceased. It is very important that I find out as I have already had prostate cancer and am the only man in my family to have this. This increases the chances of my son and grandsons to develop this.
Should I just continue to searching this man's ancestry or is there another way I might be able to determine that name of someone who is familiar with situations like this? All I know about this man is he operated a local cab company in Harlan, KY during the 1950s and he died in 1961. I was born in the spring of 1957, so I would have been conceived during the summer of 1956.
Any help or direction would be greatly appreciated.
