Published in 1928 was a book of charts or tables titled THE PLANTAGENET ANCESTRY by Lt.-Col. W. H. Turton, D.S.O. (late Royal Engineers). In it he purported to document the ancestry of Edmund, Duke of York, and his wife Elizabeth, daughter of Edward IV.
My question is straightforward.
How accurate is this work?
What reputation does it have among serious historical scholars/researchers?
Also author of THE TRUTH OF CHRISTIANITY, first published 1895. Revised through 1919. William Henry Turton also wrote hymns and lived in Bristol (1919). Reportedly born 30 Dec 1856 in Peshawar, India (now Pakistan); died 16 Jun 1938 in Okehampton, Devon.
