We do show WIlliam to be in the Boston area at the time that Solomon and Thomas were born; are we to take it that there was another Phipps family in Boston at that time besides William and his numerous siblings? But I have never seen a reference to who may have been the father of Solomon if it were not William or one of his siblings from the Maine line? Do records exist like a census, of who all Phippses may have been in Boston in c1660 to 1690?

In addition to Cleora, AJ Phipps Jr had a daughter Eufemia (Effie) born about 1890; then sons Roy and Hallett born about 1899-1901 and finally a daugher Bessie (Elizabeth) born about 1905 who died just a couple years ago in a nursing home in Dousman, Wisconsin... All of those born on that same farm 8 miles north of Henry and 6 miles S of Wallace, SD. In my grandmothers girlhood, she taught school at times and said she babysat with the three year old Hubert Humphrey once when his parents went to Minneapolis.

Effie's married name was Mc Tavish and her descendants are still farming near Marshall, Sask, Canada according to my records. Roy was married to Agnes of South Bend, Ind, but there were no children. She was long a county official at Pierre, S Dak. Hallett was a police officer at Pierre for a long time and is said here to have died in Rapid City, SD in the Seventies...No mention as to whether or not any children. Bessie's married name was Hoefer, and she lived at Worthington MN during her prime and married years. She had a son and daughter as I recall.
