Grace Name Meaning

English: occasionally perhaps from the rare Middle English female personal name Grace. This seems in the first instance to have been from an ancient Germanic element grīs ‘gray’ (see Grice ) but was soon associated by folk etymology with the Latin word meaning ‘charm’. See Gracey . English: occasionally perhaps a nickname from Middle English (Old French) grace ‘grace favor good will’ also ‘goodness beauty charm’ (from Latin gratia) but evidence to confirm this possibility is lacking.
