A Reid family household of at least 7 members residing in the district of Albert was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Watson E Reid, was born in New Brunswick in 1857. He identified his heritage as Scotch. By 1901, at the age of 44, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Business Manager". Watson's wife was Jane R Reid, who was 42 years old. Jane was born in New Brunswick in 1858. She identified her heritage as English. Watson and Jane had 5 children, 4 boys and a girl. In 1891 their eldest child, a girl named Marion, was born. One year later, in 1892, when Watson was 35 years old and Jane was 34 years old their second child, this time a son, who was named James, was born. Then, in 1895, with their two children ages 4 years and 3 years, their third child, Carlyle, was born. In 1901 another son, their fourth child and third boy, Merriett Mcc, was born. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and fourth boy, Robinson, was born in 1900. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Reid family household was filled with 5 children whose ages were 1, 4, 6, 8, and 9 years.
