A Forest family household of at least 12 members residing in the district of Berthier was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Elysie Forest, was born in Quebec in 1851. He identified his heritage as French. By 1901, at the age of 50, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Farmer". Elysie's wife was Augenie Forest, who was 44 years old. Augenie was born in Quebec in 1856. She also identified her heritage as French. Elysie and Augenie had 10 children, 5 boys and 5 girls. In 1881 their eldest child, a girl named Alberthina, was born. One year later, in 1882, when Elysie was 31 years old and Augenie was 26 years old their second child, this time a son, who was named Joseph, was born. Then, in 1883, with their two children ages 2 years and 1 year, their third child, Cilana, was born. In 1901 another son, their fourth child and second boy, Emede, was born. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and third girl, Amanda, was born in 1886. She was followed by 5 more children: their daughter Edouardina, born in 1887; their son Henry, born in 1889; their daughter Delina, born in 1892; their son George, born in 1894; and their son Damien, born in 1896. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Forest family household was filled with 10 children whose ages were 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, and 20 years.
