A Latour family household of at least 11 members residing in the district of Berthier was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Pierre Latour, was born in Quebec in 1860. He identified his heritage as French. By 1901, at the age of 41, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Overseer Farm". Pierre's wife was Dahlia Latour, who was 35 years old. Dahlia was born in Quebec in 1865. She also identified her heritage as French. Pierre and Dahlia had 9 children, 2 boys and 7 girls. In 1884 their eldest child, a boy named Alphonse, was born. Four years later, in 1888, when Pierre was 28 years old and Dahlia was 23 years old their second child, this time a daughter, who was named Alma, was born. Then, in 1893, with their two children ages 9 years and 5 years, their third child, Maria, was born. In 1901 another daughter, their fourth child and third girl, Antoinette, was born. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and fourth girl, Alice, was born in 1895. She was followed by 4 more children: their daughter Marie, born in 1897; their daughter Emiliènne, born in 1898; their daughter Emelda, born in 1899; and their son Rosaire, born in 1900. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Latour family household was filled with 9 children whose ages were 1, 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, and 16 years.
