A Fulmore family household of at least 11 members residing in the district of Colchester was recorded in 1901. The head of household, C Joseph Fulmore, was born in Nova Scotia in 1856. He identified his heritage as Irish. By 1901, at the age of 46, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Farmer". C Joseph's wife was Melissa Fulmore, who was 37 years old. Melissa was born in Nova Scotia in 1863. She also identified her heritage as Irish. C Joseph and Melissa had 9 children, 4 boys and 5 girls. In 1885 their eldest child, a girl named A Jennie, was born. One year later, in 1886, when C Joseph was 30 years old and Melissa was 23 years old their second child, this time a son, who was named H Willie, was born. Then, in 1888, with their two children ages 3 years and 2 years, their third child, M Lottie, was born. In 1901 another son, their fourth child and second boy, C Edson, was born. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and third girl, L Cora, was born in 1891. She was followed by 4 more children: their son Prescott, born in 1893; their daughter E Susan, born in 1895; their son F Crawford, born in 1897; and their daughter B Margaret, born in 1899. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Fulmore family household was filled with 9 children whose ages were 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 12, 14, and 16 years.
