Mary was born in "Cumberland Ns" in 1873. She also identified her heritage as French. Alfred and Mary had 4 children, 3 boys and a girl. In 1893 their eldest child, a boy named William, was born. Three years later, in 1896, when Alfred was 41 years old and Mary was 23 years old their second child, this time a daughter, who was named Rosile, was born.
