A Miller family household of at least 9 members residing in the district of Hants was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Christian Miller, was born in Nova Scotia in 1835. He identified his heritage as German. By 1901, at the age of 66, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Farmer". Christian's wife was Alevia Miller, who was 54 years old. Alevia was born in Nova Scotia in 1846. She also identified her heritage as German. Christian and Alevia had 7 children, 6 boys and a girl. In 1869 their eldest child, a boy named Ezra, was born. One year later, in 1870, when Christian was 35 years old and Alevia was 24 years old their second son, who was named Creighton, was born. Then, in 1876, with their two older sons ages 7 years and 6 years, their third son, Albro, was born. In 1901 another son, their fourth child, Thomas, was born. With four other sons in the household, their fifth child, Salvanus, was born in 1882. He was followed by 2 more children: their daughter Mary, born in 1884; and their son Gorege, born in 1885. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Miller family household was filled with 7 children whose ages were 15, 16, 18, 22, 24, 30, and 31 years.
