A Duval family household of at least 9 members residing in the district of Joliette was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Pierre Duval, was born in Quebec in 1858. By 1901, at the age of 42, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Farmer". Pierre's wife was Aglaé Duval, who was 40 years old. Aglaé was born in Quebec in 1861. Pierre and Aglaé had 7 children, 2 boys and 5 girls. In 1882 their eldest child, a boy named Edmour, was born. Two years later, in 1884, when Pierre was 26 years old and Aglaé was 23 years old their second son, who was named Damese, was born. Then, in 1886, with their two older sons ages 4 years and 2 years, their third child, Angelina, was born. In 1901 another daughter, their fourth child and second girl, Celina, was born. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and third girl, Marie Lu, was born in 1890. She was followed by 2 more children: their daughter Laura, born in 1895; and their daughter Eloise, born in 1900. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Duval family household was filled with 7 children whose ages were 1, 5, 10, 12, 14, 16, and 18 years.
