A Forest family household of at least 7 members residing in the district of Labelle was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Joseph Forest, was born in Quebec in 1868. He identified his heritage as French. By 1901, at the age of 33, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Lab". Joseph's wife was Eugénie Forest, who was 38 years old. Eugénie was born in Quebec in 1863. She also identified her heritage as French. Joseph and Eugénie had 5 children, 4 boys and a girl. In 1894 their eldest child, a boy named Joseph, was born. One year later, in 1895, when Joseph was 27 years old and Eugénie was 32 years old their second son, who was named Alexandre, was born. Then, in 1897, with their two older sons ages 3 years and 2 years, their third son, Ernest, was born. In 1901 another son, their fourth child, Armond, was born. Joseph and Eugénie's first daughter was born in 1900 and was named Marie. . Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Forest family household was filled with 5 children whose ages were 1, 2, 4, 6, and 7 years.
