A Bourgeois family household of at least 10 members residing in the district of Maisonneuve was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Seneca Bourgeois, was born in Quebec in 1859. He identified his heritage as French. By 1901, at the age of 42, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Garde Moteur". Seneca's wife was Alexina Bourgeois, who was 38 years old. Alexina was born in Quebec in 1863. She also identified her heritage as French. Seneca and Alexina had 8 children, 5 boys and 3 girls. In 1884 their eldest child, a boy named Armand, was born. One year later, in 1885, when Seneca was 26 years old and Alexina was 22 years old their second child, this time a daughter, who was named Alma, was born. Then, in 1888, with their two children ages 4 years and 3 years, their third child, Joseph, was born. In 1901 another son, their fourth child and third boy, Ovila, was born. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and second girl, Augustin, was born in 1892. She was followed by 3 more children: their daughter Anna, born in 1895; their son Hormisdas, born in 1897; and their son Eugene, born in 1899.
