Clara was born in Quebec in 1865. She also identified her heritage as French. André and Clara had 7 children, 3 boys and 4 girls. In 1886 their eldest child, a boy named André, was born. Two years later, in 1888, when André was 28 years old and Clara was 23 years old their second child, this time a daughter, who was named Edmié, was born.
