A Bourgeois family household of at least 10 members residing in the district of Nicolet was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Francois Bourgeois, was born in Quebec in 1841. He identified his heritage as French. By 1901, at the age of 60, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Farmer". Francois's wife was Adélina Bourgeois, who was 48 years old. Adélina was born in Quebec in 1853. She also identified her heritage as French. Francois and Adélina had 8 children, 2 boys and 6 girls. In 1874 their eldest child, a boy named Joseph, was born. Two years later, in 1876, when Francois was 35 years old and Adélina was 23 years old their second child, this time a daughter, who was named Estelle, was born. Then, in 1880, with their two children ages 6 years and 4 years, their third child, Marie Louise, was born. In 1901 another son, their fourth child and second boy, Jean Baptiste, was born. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and third girl, Rochelle, was born in 1889.
