Sample 1901 Richmond and Wolfe census records about the Beaubien family available from
A Beaubien family household of at least 9 members residing in the district of Richmond and Wolfe was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Joseph Beaubien, was born in "Europe" in 1857. Identifying his heritage as French, Joseph immigrated to Canada 21 years prior in 1880 when he was 23 years old. By 1901, at the age of 44, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Farmer". Joseph's wife was Elizabeth Beaubien, who was 34 years old. Elizabeth was born in Quebec in 1867. She also identified her heritage as French. Joseph and Elizabeth had 7 children, all boys. In 1890 the eldest boy, Alderic, was born. One year later, in 1891, when Joseph was 34 years old and Elizabeth was 24 years old their second son, who was named Camille, was born. Then, in 1893, with their two older sons ages 3 years and 2 years, their third son, Stephane, was born. In 1901 another son, their fourth child, Jules, was born. With four other sons in the household, their fifth child, Aimée, was born in 1896. He was followed by 2 more children: their son Philippe, born in 1898; and their son Armand, born in 1900. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Beaubien family household was filled with 7 sons whose ages were 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, and 11 years.
