Sample 1901 Selkirk census records about the Frances family available from Ancestry.ca:
A Frances family household of at least 5 members residing in the district of Selkirk was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Amedie Frances, was born in "France" in 1844. Identifying his heritage as French, Amedie immigrated to Canada 9 years prior in 1892 when he was 48 years old. By 1901, at the age of 57, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Mke Gardener". Amedie's wife was Therse Frances, who was 49 years old. Therse was born in "France" in 1852. Also identifying her heritage as French, the same as her husband's, Therse immigrated to Canada in 1892 when she was 40 years old. Amedie and Therse had 3 children, all boys. In 1873 the eldest boy, Jean, was born. Nine years later, in 1882, when Amedie was 38 years old and Therse was 30 years old their second son, who was named Augste, was born. Then, in 1891, with their two older sons ages 18 years and 9 years, their third son, Amedie, was born. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Frances family household was filled with 3 sons whose ages were 9, 18, and 27 years.
