A Latour family household of at least 7 members residing in the district of Terrebonne was recorded in 1901. The head of household, Elie Latour, was born in Quebec in 1837. He identified his heritage as French. By 1901, at the age of 63, he had an occupation that was recorded as "Valet". Elie's wife was Philomène Latour, who was 58 years old. Philomène was born in Quebec in 1842. She also identified her heritage as French. Elie and Philomène had 5 children, 4 boys and a girl. In 1873 their eldest child, a boy named Henrie, was born. Two years later, in 1875, when Elie was 38 years old and Philomène was 33 years old their second son, who was named Alphonse, was born. Then, in 1877, with their two older sons ages 4 years and 2 years, their third son, Raoul, was born. Elie and Philomène's first daughter was born in 1879 and was named Victoria. With four other children in the household, their fifth child and fourth boy, Guillaume, was born in 1881. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this Latour family household was filled with 5 children whose ages were 20, 21, 23, 25, and 27 years.
