In 1881 their eldest child, a girl named Annie, was born. Four years later, in 1885, when Aaron was 39 years old and Mary was 37 years old their second child, this time a son, who was named Aaron, was born. Then, in 1886, with their two children ages 5 years and 1 year, their third child, Maud, was born. In 1901 another daughter, their fourth child and third girl, Mae, was born. Thus, at the time of the 1901 census, this James family household was filled with 4 children whose ages were 9, 14, 16, and 19 years.
