Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF)
The CEF was the field organisation created by Canada for service overseas in the First World War. The CEF was so respected and had such combat efficiency that the Germans nicknamed them Stormtroopers. Mostly volunteers, the CEF became so revered by the Allied commanders that the CEF was ordered to spearhead the last campaigns of the War.
