Fitzhenry Family History
Fitzhenry Name Meaning
Irish: from Anglo-Norman French fi(t)z ‘son’ (see Fitz ) + the personal name Henry (see Henry ) ‘son of Henry’. This surname is common in Ireland (mainly Connacht) where it has been Gaelicized as Mac Éinrí. In at least some cases it seems to have been adopted as a surname indicating the illegitimate offspring of a man called Henry.
