Americanized spelling of German and Ashkenazic Jewish Glaser or Gläser (see Glaser). Slovenian spelling of German Glaser. It is found mainly in the foothills of Pohorje mountain in eastern Slovenia, where many glassworks were in operation until the end of the 19th century.
