Kamler Name Meaning

Altered spelling of German Kammler, occupational name for a comb maker or more probably a wool comber (see Kamm). It has been suggested that it may also be an agent noun from Middle High German kamin ‘chimney’, ‘stove’, hence an occupational name for a stove and chimney fitter. The surname Kamsetzer undoubtedly has this sense, but it is not clear whether Kamler does.
