Ladage Family History

Ladage Name Meaning

Origin uncertain. In spite of the French form of the name, early American bearers appear to have been of Dutch or German origin and the name is not found in French records. It may have been a Huguenot importation to the Netherlands and Germany of a French name such as Ladigue, a habitational name from a place named La Digue, examples of which are found in Finistère and Loire-Atlantique, or from a district of Jumièges in Seine-Maritime.
