Mclarnon Family History

Mclarnon Name Meaning

Irish: from Mac Giolla Earnáin ‘son of the servant (i.e. devotee) of (Saint) Earnán’ a personal name borne by several saints who lived in the north of Ireland. Earnán was glossed in early documents as Latin ferreolus ‘little iron one’ (i.e. a derivative of Gaelic iarn ‘iron’) although this is debatable.
