Schembri Name Meaning

Italian (Sicily) and Maltese: possibly of Albanian origin a habitational name derived from the placename Shkëmber. It was presumably brought to Sicily centuries ago with Albanian mercenaries and later spread to Malta (and apparently from there to the Greek island of Corfu where it is spelled Skempris).
