In part it is a Gottscheerish (i.e. Gottschee German) surname originating from the Kočevsko region in Lower Carniola Slovenia (see Kocevar ). Germanized form of Slovenian and Croatian Šprajcer and Šprajcar surnames of German origin (see 1 above). In Slovenia they may (partly) be Slovenized forms of the Gottscheerish (i.e. Gottschee German) surname.
