South German (Tüll): nickname for someone who was patient from Middle High German dult ‘patience’; or from a personal name formed with the same word; or from Middle High German tult dult ‘fair festival’ (Bavarian Dult). The surname Tüll is rare in Austria and virtually non-existing in Germany.
