(ii) from the personal name of Weng Nanyi (翁难乙) an official in the Xia dynasty (2070–1600 BC). Chinese: variant Romanization of the surname 汪 see Wang Chinese: variant Romanization of the surname 溫 see Wen German: habitational name from any of several places so named in southern Germany and Austria. Danish: unexplained.
