She was born July 22, 1918 in Grapevine, Texas to Lewis and Thelma (Shaw) Tittle.She grew up and received her education in Fort Worth Texas. She married Perry K. Bushnell Sr. in Santa Fe, New Mexico, April 16, 1938. The Bushnell's made their home in New Mexico and Texas before moving to Richland in 1943 to work on the Hanford Project.Jo worked as a telephone operator while her husband served in the military during World War II. She served as a Red Cross volunteer and studied home nursing during the war. Jo was a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was an active Kadlec Hospital volunteer and happily gave her time to the organization for some 20 years. She was an active member of Westside Church and served as a Deacon for a number of years. The Bushnells were among the first members of Westside Church when it was first built and started services.The Bushnells enjoyed their home away from home at their place at Rainbow Beach Resort on Twin Lakes. Fishing was a great pass time for Jo and Perry. Nothing could please her more than arising at 5:00 am to fish off the dock and see the sun rise over the lake and hills behind it. They both enjoyed travel very much and one of their favorite destinations was Kailua-Kona, Hawaii where they spent many winters.They enjoyed cruises and traveling with groups. They toured Europe and Hong Kong and also had many wonderful trips around the United States in their motor home.Jo enjoyed life and loved her family and friends around her and enjoyed cooking for all of them. She was well known among her group as a wonderful hostess and party giver. She had many hobbies over the years and most enjoyed her oil painting, crafts of all kinds, quilt making, gardening and fishing. She was always an ardent reader.She was preceded in death by parents and her husband Perry, the love of her life for 63 years. She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Hoff and husband, Dean, Richland, and Bonnie Robbins, Mountlake Terrace, Wa, one son, Perry Bushnell Jr. and wife Margit, Kennewick Wa, one brother, David L. Tittle and wife, Patricia of Trinity, Texas, one niece, Sister Cecilia Bushnell, Channing, Texas, seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.The family would like to thank Dr. Zuroske for the many years he cared for our Mother and Father. We would also like to thank the staff of Riverton and Hospice at The Chaplaincy for their kindness and loving care for our Mother. Services will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 11:00am at Memories at Sunset Event Center on the Richland by-pass highway. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
