Bruck Name Meaning
German (also Brück): topographic name for someone who lived near a bridge or an occupational name for a bridge keeper or toll collector on a bridge from Middle High German bruck(e) ‘bridge’. Bruck remained the Bavarian and Austrian form reflected in placenames such as Innsbruck whereas in central and northern Germany Brück(e) was the regular and ultimately standard form as for example in the placename Osnabrück.
