Truan Family History
Truan Name Meaning
Spanish (Truán): nickname from truhán ‘knave joker’. Cornish: perhaps a habitational name from Trewoon (Saint Mewan Cornwall) which is pronounced in the appropriate way; or possibly from any of the places called Troon (in Breage Camborne and Phillack). The placenames are derived from Middle Cornish tre + goen (‘farm on the downs’).
