Olan Name Meaning
Spanish (Olán): variant spelling of holán ‘furbelow’, a kind of delicate white fabric frill (originally from Holland, whence the name), used to adorn women’s skirts; possibly therefore a metonymic occupational name for someone who made or sold such frills. This name is found mainly in Mexico and Caribbean Islands. Swedish: probably an ornamental name, but unexplained.
